What the college says

The main focus of this A Level is Pure Mathematics. Covering topics which tend to be mainly algebraic in nature, students develop their understanding of these concepts and improve their logical reasoning skills so they can begin to solve challenges that occur frequently in modern day life. As the course develops, the topics become increasingly related to real life and it becomes clearer how these powerful new techniques can be related to industry and the financial world. Other branches of Mathematics studied are Statistics, Mechanics and Decision. These applied topics have a more specific, but equally important, relevance to life. The flexibility of this modular A Level means that you could have an A Level in Mathematics which specialises in Mechanics, Statistics or Decision Mathematics or a combination of these, depending on your choice of modules.
