This Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course is designed to provide you with an insight into life as a Motor Mechanic or Vehicle Technician and help you to develop the industry-standard knowledge and skills required. This Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course is mainly practical-based, with training taking place in our £10 million Advanced Technology Centre.

What you need to get on

If you are at least 19 years old, looking for a career in the automotive industry, or have a keen interest in learning the skills of this rewarding trade, this one year course is ideal for you. Mandatory requirements: You must be aged at least 19 before the course starts in September. You must be able to attend one and a half days per/week.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
