What the college says

This course is for automotive enthusiasts keen to jump-start their career in the motor vehicle industry. Throughout the year youll be trained to repair and replace light vehicle components, working on a range of different motor vehicles. Based primarily in our workshops, classroom time is kept to a minimum. Whilst working in small teams, youll learn about vehicle electronics, engine technologies, chassis dynamics and design.

What you need to get on

Some GCSEs at grades 4 or 3/C or D, or Foundation Level 1 in Engineering

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
