After completing Year 1 Level 1 Diploma in Automotive Maintenance and what to know more and progress into the industry then this is the course for you. It covers a range of skills from routine maintenance to repair techniques, including health and safety in the workplace, tools and equipment for vehicle maintenance, and various vehicle systems like steering, suspension, braking, and tyres. The qualification is based on the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors (KSBs) for the Level 2 Autocare Technician apprenticeship standard ST0499 V1.2, developed by employers from the automotive sector. The course will build on skills from the previous year in the practical and Theory areas of your study Areas Covered within the programme: Health, Safety, in the Automotive Environment Customer Service Skills in the Automotive Sector Knowledge and Skills in Routine Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Knowledge and Skills in Routine Engine System Maintenance Knowledge and Skills in Replacing Vehicle Chassis Components Knowledge and Skills Vehicle Air Conditioning Systems. Knowledge of Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Operation, Hazard Awareness and Safety Precautions Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Components Work placement in the commercial environment is part of your course, encouraging you to gain your own placement as well as looking at opportunities that the college may be able to offer. This helps you to develop real life working skills and employability.
