WHY STUDY FOOD SCIENCE & NUTRITION? An understanding of food science and nutrition is relevant to many industries and job roles such as nutritionists, care providers such as hospitals, fitness instructors, hospitality and catering, product development and promotion. This qualification has been designed to provide the knowledge, understanding and skills to progress to further study or training or be used to provide experience for employment. This qualification has been approved for UCAS points equivalent to those gained from A levels. YOU WILL STUDY: Food preparation skills and techniques Nutritional needs of specific groups Food hygiene and safety Food science and experimentation Issues in food science and nutrition Project based research, development and presentation.
