What the college says
This qualification will provide you with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children or young people in Primary and Secondary schools. The course includes learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication. The Level 3 Certificate is suitable for those working in unsupervised roles that support pupils’ learning. You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence or written assignments. Your studies will be College based for 1 day per week and work placement will be two days per week. This course is Advanced Learning Loan eligible which can fully cover the course fee.
What you need to get on
You should have a least a grade C / 4 in English or Functional Skills Level 2, however dispensation may also be given to those who have experience in the field and have achieved a Level 2 Teaching Assistants certificate.
