What you need to get on
You are required to be in a work placement for at least ten hours a week. These can be voluntary hours or paid employment. The support of a mentor within the workplace is also required. There may be the opportunity to support on a voluntary basis at the College - please enquire at interview if interested.You need to have a minimum of Level 1 Literacy (English) and be working towards Level 2 Literacy (English) and Numeracy (maths) or equivalent qualifications.If English is not your first language
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
