What the college says
This is a full time study programme. You will complete a minimum of 30 hours work placement to gain a real life insight into this sector. You will learn through a variety of teaching methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, projects, extended writing and interactive activities. Throughout the course you will study 7 units in total. These include: * Equality and Diversity * Human Growth and Development * Safeguarding and protection * Anatomy and Physiology
What you need to get on
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above You will be interviewed by the subject teacher. You should be enthusiastic about working within the Health and Social Care Sector and be able to participate in work experience.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
