What the college says
This one year course will give you a broad understanding of computing as well as giving you the chance to study some areas of computing in more depth. There are practical aspects to the course which are linked to the world of work. You will also gain the skills, knowledge and understanding you will need to take your studies further. We offer this course at our College Green and South Bristol Skills Academy centres.--The course aims to cover a broad range of IT specialisms, designed to engage you with practical activity and develop technical skills that can be used in industry and at higher course levels.
What you need to get on
All applicants will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D including Maths and/or English, a foundation Diploma, NVQ 1 or satisfactory completion of a learning programme at Level 1.
How you are assessed
Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.

Approved for 16 to 18 study on the government's Section 96 list.
