What the college says
The Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings is designed for learners who are interested in gaining an understanding of the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities required to work across health, social care, and children’s and young people’s services. This qualification introduces learners to key concepts within the health and social care sector and provides a broad overview of how services are delivered to meet the needs of individuals. It is particularly suited to those learners who are exploring the possibility of a career in health and social care and wish to develop their awareness before progressing further. This course provides an accessible pathway and while it does not confirm occupational competence or prepare learners for a specific job role, it offers valuable insight into the structure of the sector and the roles within it. Learners will develop foundation knowledge to help them decide whether a career in health and social care or children’s services is right for them.
