Delivered at a 75:25 practical to theory ratio, this Level 1 offers a practical cookery experience to develop your skills in an industry-standard kitchen. You’ll be given an introduction into kitchen equipment, as well as preparing and cooking food using basic methods such as; baking, stewing, braising, roasting, grilling, boiling, poaching, steaming, deep and shallow frying. Assessed through short-answer question papers and timed practical assessments, you will gain a Level 1 City & Guilds certificate in Culinary Skills upon successful completion of the course.
