This course is your gateway to the exciting world of engineering. Imagine being able to operate a centre lathe, creating intricate components with your own two hands. Not only that, but you'll also learn how to build and test electronic circuits. And that not all - you'll also become a pro at Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) by creating 3D models and technical drawings. Plus, you'll expand your knowledge with skills like hand fitting techniques, robotics, and math and science. By the end of this course, you'll be fully equipped with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed in an apprenticeship or T Level pathway in engineering.
What you need to get on
GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 3-9. OR Successful completion of the Engineering - Level 1 course. You will also need to successfully complete a college induction process, have good attendance, good time keeping and a good attitude If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
