What you need to get on

Prior achievement of the following GCSEs and grades is necessary:GCSE Grade 4 in either Maths or English, and at least a Grade 3 in the other subject.A keen interest in engineering, manufacturing, or technical support.A positive attitude towards practical and theoretical learning.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
