What you need to get on
4 GCSES at grade 3 including 2 of English Maths and Science OR Level 1 pass in a related subject plus grade 3 in English or Maths and both subjects must be at least grade 2 / Level 1 Functional Skills.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
