What the college says
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care is a one year, work-related qualification for people who are passionate about care. It is designed to expand your knowledge and improve employability, through a mix of theory and practice. You will learn new skills which will be applied through your work placement.
What you need to get on
You will require a minimum of 4 GCSE at grades 3-9 which Include English and Maths. Science will also be required for progression onto some health and social care courses including Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Science. Alternatively, students must have successfully completed a relevant Level 1 qualification and have achieved Level 1 Functional skill in English and Maths.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
