This course is perfect if you want to develop your knowledge and understanding in health and social care and wish to progress on to the Level 3 Health and Social Care course. The course is a pathway if you are hoping to develop your studies over time and possibly go on to university.
What you need to get on
You'll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*- D), including English Language and Maths - one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9- 4 (A*- C). Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above. You must be aged 16-18 to apply for this course.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
