What the college says
Sociology is all about human behaviour; it looks at how society works and how the various parts of society relate to each other. Core features of the course include the different views sociologists have about the subject, the disagreements surrounding the nature of society and the various ways researchers learn about the social world. Studying Sociology to AS and/or A Level will help you to gain the essential knowledge and understanding of central aspects of sociological thought and methods.
What you need to get on
Both internal and external pupils wishing to enter the sixth form will be expected to have met the same minimum academic entry requirements for the sixth form. This is a minimum of 3 GCSE grade 4s and grade 4 in English AND Maths. Please note, we may adjust our offer each year. Check the school's website for up to date courses. This course additionally requires grade 5 in English Language.
