What the college says
In Year 12 you will follow a course of combined practical and critical study using a variety of Art, Craft and Design processes. You will be encouraged and guided to research and develop your own ideas in a variety of disciplines, including painting and drawing, mixed media, sculpture, textiles, printmaking and lens and light-based media. During the year you will produce a portfolio of experimental work based around a set theme, and an externally set assignment. In Year 13 you will build upon the level of skills, knowledge and understanding developed in Year 12. During the year you will produce a self devised practical assignment, accompanied by a written component of 1000 to 3000 words, and an externally set assignment.
What you need to get on
At least 5 GCSE grades A*-C, including at least a grade B in Art or equivalent
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
