GCE A Level Textiles
at Rainham School For Girls, Gillingham · school or sixth form
What the college says
To provide the logical progression from GCSE Art & Design for potential artists/designers, and also for students aiming to attend college, university courses and careers in the field of Art & Design. What hasn't been designed or had some kind of creative input? Textile design surrounds us; the shoes and clothes we wear every day, the functional items such as waterproof coats and sportswear. The fabric of our curtains, bedspreads and cushions have all been created by a textiles designer. This qualification will provide students with a comprehensive portfolio of 2D and 3D work needed for art college entry or university.
