Sociology is an exciting A Level subject in which students gain a wider understanding of individuals and society. The course encourages critical thought about social processes and changes that have occurred as a result of crime, law making, changing social attitudes, the decline in formal religion and through the influence of individuals, social protest and social movements. If you like learning about the big social issues and discussion this is the course for you! What skills do I need to be successful on this course? • Ability to research and evaluating complex information • Ability to make reasoned arguments orally and in written work • Ability to work collaboratively with others • Ability to handle statistical and other quantitative data • Ability to understand, scrutinise and re-assess common perceptions of the social world.

Students should have grade 6 in English GCSE.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
