What the college says

Sociology is the study of society. We look at how society is organised through institutions like the family, education, media and peers and how these affect individuals within society. Sociology also considers many contemporary social concerns like crime, inequalities in terms of class, gender, ethnicity and age, and current issues such as identity. In Year 12, students will be looking at sociological theory, families and households, education and research methods. In Year 13, students continue developing their theoretical knowledge of Sociology, as well as studying crime and deviance, along with beliefs in society.
