Sociology is the study of the development and structure of society. It is a fascinating subject, taking in topics such as whether the police are racist, whether childhood is ‘toxic’ and damaging to British children, and how the media influences our views on people from different backgrounds to us. You will answer questions about the ever-changing society we live in, such as: • Why is marriage declining? • Why do girls outperform boys at GCSE? • What is the best way to deal with criminal behaviour?

What you need to get on

5 GCSE's including English and maths at grade 5 or above plus grade 6 in English Language.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
