At Minsthorpe Community College all of our teachers of French are experts with a minimum of a BA Honors degree in the language with experience living and working in France. Our teachers are passionate about the French language and language learning and often travel to France. If you love learning languages, A level French is the next ideal step in developing your passion and knowledge of the language and culture - it is a LOT more interesting than GSCE! French is the study of French language and culture. You will study technological and social change, looking at diversity and the benefits it brings. You will study highlights of French-speaking artistic culture, including francophone music and cinema, and learn about political engagement and who wields political power in the French-speaking world. You will also explore the influence of the past on present-day French-speaking communities. Throughout your studies, you will learn the language in the context of French-speaking countries and the issues and influences which have shaped them. You will study texts and film and have the opportunity to carry out independent research on an area of your choice.
