What the college says
This course is for students who want to continue studying Art and design after GCSE. It is an exciting and popular course which attracts large numbers of students in the Sixth Form. The course offers an in- depth introduction to both traditional and digital photography within a framework of general art and design issues such as contextual studies, visual language and interpretation and professional industry awareness.
What you need to get on
To gain a place in the Sixth Form all students will ideally have at least grade 4 in both an English and Maths and at least three other GCSEs, or Level 2 qualifications, at grade 5 or above. Additional subject criteria: NO SPECIFICS BUT GRADE 5 IN PHOTOGRAPHY/ART IS BENEFICIAL.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
