A Level Mathematics is a rigorous and challenging area of study. You will build on the topics of algebra and geometry met at GCSE as well as being introduced to calculus and logarithms. Students with a Mathematics qualification go on to study many courses at university from engineering, accountancy, and operational research to pure science and mathematics. During the first year students will study areas such as coordinate geometry, differentiation, integration, trigonometry, sequences and series and logarithms. In addition students study Mechanics (links well with Physics) and Statistics (links well with Biology, Geography and Psychology)

5 GCSEs Grades 4-9, including 7 or better in GCSE Maths

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
