What the college says

Mathematics is a valuable A-Level qualification that has become increasingly desirable in recent years as a support subject in areas such as Science, Geography, Economics, and Business Studies. The whole of the linear course content is compulsory without any options for choice. Two-thirds of the course content is pure mathematics and one-third content is applied mathematics. The applied mathematics content consists of half statistics and half mechanics. At FCSF you will have a teacher who is dedicated to the part of the curriculum that you are studying. They will be an expert in the delivery of the Pure, Statistics and Mechanics elements of the course. We take pride in ensuring that the course is delivered in a clear and supportive way while also challenging students to look beyond the curriculum by linking the Mathematics that you are learning to examples that appear in the world outside the classroom setting.
