Maths underpins all areas of life; Maths skills learned at A level, such as logical thinking, problem solving and statistical analysis are universally required in the workplace. The A Level course studies pure maths based around indices, surds, co-ordinate geometry, differentiation, integration, trigonometry, sequences, series, algebra, functions, proof, modulus, transformations, circles, parametric equations, binomial theorem, exponentials, logarithms, numerical methods, graphs, differential equations, modelling and vectors. This body of knowledge and skills are then applied to real-life situations involving Statistics and Mechanics.

5 GCSEs at grade 4+ and maths at grade 5 or above

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
