Mathematics at AS and A Level is both challenging and interesting, as it builds on the topics you have met at GCSE and develops the ideas further. It is suited to people who enjoy problem solving, computation and logical reasoning including proof. It is a highly regarded qualification in the workplace and in Higher Education. At AS Level, Mathematics is highly useful support for Physics and other mathematics-based AS and A Levels such as Sciences, Geography, Psychology, and Sociology. A Level Mathematics is a highly desirable qualification for entry to a wide variety of full time courses in Higher Education. There are also many areas of employment that view Mathematics A Level as an important qualification, and it is often a requirement for vocational courses related to these areas. Higher Education courses and careers that list A Level Mathematics as essential or highly desirable include Computing and Finance, Economics and Medicine, Architecture and Engineering, Accountancy and Actuary and of course Mathematics itself.

What you need to get on

To study A Levels at North Chadderton you must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A"?-C. Two of these must include GCSE Maths and English.
