History A-Level: The following units will be covered: England 1377-1455 (Enquiry topic: Richard II 1377-1399) This period of study will take students from Richard II's coronation, through the reigns of Henry IV and Henry V and finishing with the reign of Henry VI. The study will focus on the domestic and foreign policies of each King, covering such important events as The Peasants Revolt, The Percy Rebellion, the numerous assassination attempts, The Burning of John Badby and Cades Rebellion, to name just a few. Russia 1894 - 1941 Unit 2 is a non-British Historical study, with an emphasis on use of knowledge, understanding and judgement. The focus of this Unit will be Russia 1894 - 1941, starting with study Russia under the tsarist system, including key social and economic problems facing Russia and the development of opposition to the Tsar. You will also consider reform in Russia following the 1905 Revolution. You will then study the Revolutions of 1917 and their impact on Russia, the Civil War and the rule of Lenin. The Changing Nature of Warfare 1792-1945 This theme focuses on the changing nature and methods of land warfare during a period of significant change. Learners should draw their examples from the main wars of the period: the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, the Wars of Unification (the 1859 Italian War, the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871), the American Civil War, the Russo-Japanese war, the First World War a
