Journey back in time to explore civilisations of old with an A Level in History. From the colonial impacts on African Kingdoms 1400-1800, to Civil Rights in the USA that will take you all the way up to 1992 – this course will give you a greater understanding of the world around us today. Students of A Level History will greatly develop their analytical skills, which is hugely beneficial when looking forward to university level education where these skills are essential. You will learn to assess the reliability of a source and explore the impact of bias, and how political influence and contextual evidence will all affect this.

What you need to get on

3 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 4 and 2 at Grade 5, which must include English Language or Literature and Maths at Grade 4.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
