Anyone who wants to continue their History studies after GCSE. You will be interested in studying a range of historical periods covering at least 200 years and from different countries. You will be curious about the past and the primary sources left behind by people and organisations contemporary to events. You will also want to learn how historians create their accounts of the past. You will want to develop your own judgements, using strong subject knowledge to analyse events.

What you need to get on

Students achieving a minimum of at least six GCSEs (9 5) of which at least four are at a grade 6 (or equivalent). In addition, students must meet subject entry requirements, which in most cases require a minimum of Grade 6 in the subject to be studied, or related subjects. Students must also achieve a minimum of a grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
