If you're a keen reader, enjoy analysing language and want to develop your own creative writing, this course would suit you. It compliments most other arts and humanities subjects and is particularly suited to students wishing to pursue careers where higher level communication and analytical skills are important. It will give you transferable skills including the ability to read critically, analyse and evaluate and undertake independent research.

What you need to get on

To gain a place in the Sixth Form all students will ideally have at least grade 4 in both an English and Maths and at least three other GCSEs, or Level 2 qualifications, at grade 5 or above. Additional subject criteria: A minimum of a Grade 5 in both English Language and Literature.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
