What the college says
In a rapidly developing world, it has never been more important to be technologically aware. This course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of many computing topics and solve complex problems in a variety of business, scientific and social contexts. Computer science is also a creative subject that involves the innovative thinking and development of ideas through software development.
What you need to get on
Sixth form standard requirements of Grade 4 in English and maths plus at least 3 more GCSEs at grade 4 or above. Short courses do not count. Plus a keen interest in computing. It is expected that students achieve at least a grade 6 in both their computer science and maths GCSEs to study the course.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
