We live in a world where computers are an integral and inevitable feature of life. Computing is the study of how computer systems work, with the emphasis on computational thinking. It involves questions that have the potential to change how we view the world. The Computer Science course offered is designed to: • Allow students to demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental principles of computing • Develop problem-solving abilities in a computing context using an algorithmic approach • Demonstrate a knowledge of programming through a problem-solving scenario • Develop an understanding of the hardware and software aspects of computing

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects at grade 5 Grade 5 in GCSE Computer Science if taken Grade 5 in GCSE Chemistry or Physics or Grade 6 in GCSE Combined Science Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
