What the college says
In A Level Computer Science, you will develop the skills necessary to design and implement effective computer solutions. This comprehensive course covers programming in various languages such as C#, SQL and Haskell, allowing you to become proficient in multiple programming languages. The creativity of the practical work is supported by theory so you gain a thorough understanding of the underlying principles. We develop this theoretical background so that you will have a deeper understanding of many aspects including, for example, algorithmic efficiency, internet security and object orientated programming.
What you need to get on
3 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 4 and 2 at Grade 5, which must include English Language or Literature and Maths at Grade 4.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
