The qualification builds on the knowledge and skills that you achieved in GCSE Chemistry. Students learn to appreciate how chemical concepts are used to describe complex and diverse phenomenon of both the natural and manmade world. The course is well suited for students who are looking for a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, biomedical science, research scientist and chemical engineering.

What you need to get on

You will need at least a grade 7:6 in GCSE combined science (including the chemistry component) and grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics or grade 6 in GCSE chemistry and grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics. Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills have added advantage.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
