This course is ideal for creative, self-motivated students who want to develop their visual language and pursue careers in the creative industries, architecture, or fine art. Students will gain advanced practical skills across various media, from traditional painting to digital design. By producing a comprehensive portfolio, learners master critical analysis, independent research, and visual problem-solving—essential for progressing to university or art foundation courses.

What you need to get on

For all Sixth Form courses, students must have five GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grades 9-4, which must include Mathematics AND English Language/Literature at a Grade 4 or above. Students will also require a Grade 4 in Art if taken at GCSE. If no previous Art experience, students will need to show the head of subject a sample of design work and/or artwork they have done recently.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
