The A Level in Art and Design: Textiles encourages students to develop the skills gained within their GCSE course. You are encouraged to work autonomously and will need to be self-motivated, contributing further hours of study outside of timetabled lessons. This A Level course is set up and designed to prepare students for future study in a creative discipline. This will be done through a dedicated portfolio, building on sessions where students can reflect critically upon the work produced and be selective about outcomes you wish to use as part of your portfolio. These portfolios will be used in University interviews, as part of the selection process.

What you need to get on

Sixth Form Entry Requirements: Grade 6 or better in Mathematics and English, together with a further 4 GCSE subjects at Grade 6 or better. Subject Specific Entry Requirements: Grade 6 or above in GCSE Textiles.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
