The ability to make and create things for others to use and enjoy is a truly satisfying undertaking. This course encourages individuality and original creative expression. You will study contemporary and historical Art & Design practices within a stimulating and challenging studio environment. We will teach you how to undertake complex and ambitious creative tasks covering a broad range of creative skills including Composition & Collage, Practical Experimentation. Sketchbook Presentation, “Colour Gesture Emotion”, Design Process, Independent Study Skills, Illustration, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Fine Art, Textiles/Stitch, Graphics etc. Art and Design students will also enjoy a programme of career and progression visits.
What you need to get on
GCSE English grade 4 or above. A GCSE 5 or above in a creative subject e.g. Art, Photography, Textiles, Product Design
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
