To provide the logical progression from GCSE Art & Design for potential artists/designers, and also for students aiming to attend art college, university courses and careers in the field of Graphics, Art & Design. What hasn't been designed or had some kind of creative input? Art & Design has helped to create everything from the food cans in the supermarkets to the signage that allows us to know where we are going; the newspapers we read or the computer graphics seen on the internet every day. When we consider our environment we realise the fundamental impact Art & Design has on our everyday lives. This course provides students with the opportunity to produce an excellent portfolio of work which they will need for college or university entry. We have an exemplary record of students gaining places at The University College for Creative Arts in order to progress into careers in this field. There are an extremely wide range of careers in Art & Design including Graphic Design, Animation, Photography, Film, Video Television, Computer Graphics, Web based Design, Model Making, Set Design, Advertising, Design for Print, Interior Design and Product Design.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs graded at 4 or above (counting 2 BTECs maximum) A grade 4 in English or Maths The normal entry requirements for advanced courses apply including a grade 4 achieved in GCSE Art & Design. Candidates without these qualifications would be considered through a portfolio entry which must be submitted prior to starting the course.
