What the college says
The course is intended to build upon the work undertaken in GCSE Food Technology. During the course you will look at technology and design in the food industry and develop your own design capability. You will also focus on the relationship between design, materials, manufacturing, microbiology and food science. Whilst studying the course several visits are made to local Food companies. Students will be expected to participate in a range of practical activities including food science experiments and making their own products using a range of different ingredients.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
