Economics is the study of how individuals, businesses and, governments manage their resources. These resources include time, income, land, capital equipment, labour government taxes and expenditure, as well as expertise of how to combine these resources to create useful products and services. Important choices have to be made about how much time to devote to work, education and leisure, how much money to spend and save, how to combine resources to produce goods and services and how to shape taxes and the role of government. Economics seeks to answer whether individuals, businesses and the government are using their resources efficiently and effectively to improve the well-being of everyone, or selfishly just their own
