Economics explores how markets work (and fail); the UK Economy; business behaviour and the Labour Market; and global issues such as the impact of emerging economies, poverty and inequality. We analyse economic problems and evaluate economic arguments and evidence. It is suitable for anyone who wishes to use an enquiring, critical and thoughtful approach to the study of a wide range of economic and social issues. An interest in current business and economics affairs is vital! A Level Economics can lead to careers in Business or General Management, Accountancy, Investment Banking and many other paths. (Please note: if you are considering studying Economics at university, many courses require Maths A Level, and some Russell Group Universities also require Further Maths A Level). Opportunities: We have active and successful Young Enterprise and Dragons' Den competition teams; subject trips to institutions such as The Bank of England.
