Economics is about choice and the impact of our choices on each other. It relates to every aspect of our lives, from the decisions we make as individuals or families to the structures created by governments and firms. Microeconomics examines individual firms and markets, whereas macroeconomics allows you to understand those choices made by society in general and their contribution to the wider economic and social environment. You will develop an enquiring, critical and thoughtful 'economist's mind', and practise skills, qualities and attitudes which will equip you for the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of adult working life.
