Economics is the study of the factors that influence income, wealth and well-being. It is a social science which incorporates mathematics and statistics, as well as having connections with the physical sciences (biology, medicine and physics) and many other disciplines (politics, law, geography, psychology etc).

What you need to get on

Minimum sixth form entry requirement of five GCSE grades 9-5 including grade 5 in English and Mathematics. Subject criteria: GCSE grade 6 in Economics if studied, and GCSE grade 6 in Mathematics. If not studied, grade 5 in English and grade 6 in Mathematics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
