What the college says
The Early Years Practitioner level 2 apprenticeship is a qualification for people working with babies, children and young people in a variety of settings including nurseries, crèches, pre-schools and schools. These awards will enable you to develop and prove your practical competence as well as build your knowledge and understanding of early years care.
What you need to get on
There are no formal entry requirements. However you must be working within early years care at the appropriate level, either full-time, part-time or on a voluntary basis in order to generate the necessary evidence to prove competence. We will guide you on this.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?
Approved for 16 to 18 study on the government's Section 96 list.
