The department aims to provide studentswith learning which is relevant to living in the modern world, to make them aware of the media industry's influence on students' everyday lives. We also aim to enable and facilitate the development of skills, which can be applied in a range of different career pathways. WHERE DOES IT LEAD? Excellent preparation for all careers involving communication skills. The high level of critical analysis in written debate provides a firm academic foundation for many higher education courses. Subjects which go well with Media Studies are English Literature, Sociology, Theatre Studies, Art &Design, Economics or Business.

5 GCSEs @ Grades 4-9, including 5+ in GCSE English Language and Literature and a Level 2 Merit in Creative Media, if taken
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
