With the prevalent and ever growing influence of the media in modern society, Media Studies is increasing in popularity at level 3 and beyond. It is ideal if you are interested in working in the creative media industry. The BTEC Media Studies course gives you a broad experience of many different aspects of the media, including film, television, print media (newspapers, advertising and magazines) and social media. It focuses heavily on key concepts such as representation and audience. The course contains practical and written elements: *Plan and produce a series of videos, including adverts, music videos, dramas, corporate productions, and live broadcasts *Take ideas from conception through to completion of the finished project *Understand audience theory and identify a range of employment opportunities within the creative media industry and develop skills within industry standard post production platforms for video editing. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively and understand different aspects of a constantly changing media.
