These qualifications provide the practical and technical skills needed to become a craftsperson, this is college based course which gives you real life hands on experience needed to successful work in the construction industry. During these courses, you will take your skill to the next level, you will build modern roofs with trusses, hang doors and kitchen installation if you choose the site option. If bench joinery is your choice then you will use hand skills, equipment such as routers, mortise machines, spindle moulders to make straight stairs and half glazed windows.

What you need to get on

A recognised level 1 construction qualification in the trade area, GCSE grade 4/5 (C) in Maths & English or relevant

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
