This course has been developed to further enhance your knowledge and skills in carpentry and joinery, equipping you for an apprenticeship or other employment.In addition to the underpinning theory, you will take part in a variety of practical tasks including hanging doors, fitting frames, stairs, hand skills, roof and floor construction, windows, and casings and claddings.
What you need to get on
You will need:Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (D or above)OrCarpentry and Joinery - Level 1 and Functional SkillsAll applicants must have an assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.You will also need stationary, overalls and safety boots.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
